Guiding - What We Offer
We have professional, bike loving guides to help you navigate the amazing trails around Tucson. You can choose to go with one of our classic routes, or contact us to schedule a custom route.
IMORTANT: We will do our best to match your skills and fitness to the correct ride. Some of Tucson’s trails can be very technical and physically demanding! All riders who sign up for a guided ride must complete our pre-ride questionnaire.
Equipment: If you aren’t renting a bike, we recommend bringing a full suspension mountain bike with a dropper post and tubeless tires (with fresh sealant!). Your bike should be in good working order, or if not, our partner bike shop Earlybird Bikes can make sure it is (schedule service in advance). Helmets are mandatory and any additional protective gear is always a good idea. Also remember that you will be riding in a desert environment. Plan to stay hydrated and have sun screen or sun protective clothing (even in winter!). We can help you out if you need any accessories, just let us know!
Lower Lemmon Drop
The lower Lemmon Drop is probably the most commonly ridden route for those who want to check out the riding on Mt Lemmon. This is a fairly technical ride that is mostly downhill, but still has some steep climbs that will be hike-a-bike at times. Those who find the flow consider this one of the best rides in the country! Can be ridden as Bug Springs → Prison Camp for a 2-3 hour ride, or add Milagrosa at the end to up the difficulty and distance.
Cost: Guided ride $325 + $100 for each additional person (includes shuttle)
Time: 2-4 hours
Skill/fitness required: Intermediate-Advanced
Full Lemmon Drop
The full Lemmon Drop is a big technical adventure ride that takes you from the pine forest all the way down to the floor of the Sonoran Desert while passing through several other distinct ecological zones along the way. This is Tucson’s version of the Whole Enchilada.
Cost: Guided ride $425 + $100 for each additional person (includes shuttle)
Time: 4-8 hours
Skill/fitness required: Advanced
Red Ridge - Backcountry epic
A backcountry epic that doesn’t get the same attention as the Lemmon Drop even though it probably should. This ride drops off the backside of the mountain on some ripping singletrack and eventually connects to the 50 year trail system where you can play on rock slabs and jib your way to the end. Yes, there’s a surprise climb in the middle!
Cost: Guided ride $425 + $100 each additional person (includes shuttle)
Time: 4-8 hours
Skill/fitness required: Advanced
